Dr. Ahmed Aboubakr has joined our group on a DAAD ERA Green Hydrogen Fellowship as a post-doctoral researcher until December 2026. His project is called ‘Deciphering the Reaction Activity of Metal Hydroxide/Oxide-MXene Heterostructures for Oxygen Evolution from Water Electrolysis to Produce Green H₂’. Welcome to the team Ahmed.

Merve’s paper ‘Optimizing bimetallic NiRu@Ti₃C₂T_x catalysts for oxygen evolution: The Impact of MXene content on Ru stability - ScienceDirect, was published in a special issue of Electrochemical Acta ‘Electrochemical Small Molecules Activation’. Congratulations Merve and co-authors 😊

Dr. Rania Elhadi Adam Mohammed from Prof. Al-Shamery Group (University of Oldenburg) has join the group as a visiting researcher to make MXene based materials for her photoelectrochemical water splitting project under the Philipp Schwartz Initiative - Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation.
