Joint Research Group Hybride MaterialSystems
Joint Research Group
The mutual research group "Hybride Material Systems" is a cooperation between the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. The focus of our research lies on organic semiconductors and their interfaces to inorganic semiconductors as well as metals. We are using mostly synchrotron-based investigation methods to reveal the electronic structure (photoelectron spectroscopy) as well as the geometric arrangement of the molecules(x-ray diffraction).

Organic semiconductors
Our group investigates fundamental properties of organic single crystals, polymers and small molecules. One fundamental research question is to understand the doping mechanism through strong p-or n-dopants.

Perovskites
We investigate the fundamental properties of photovoltaic relevant perovskite materials. E.g. we determine their band structure by angle resolved photoelectron spectroscopy or analyze the influence of oxygen or other environemtns on their electronic structure.

2D TMDCs
We grow MoS2 and WS2 via chemical vapor deposition and investigate their fundamental properties as well as their potential combination in heterostructures with organic molecules through a variety of characterization methods.
