Simulation

AFORS-HET, a numerical computer program for simulation of heterojunction solar cells and measurements has been constantly developed in our department since the year 2003. It is available free of charge via the internet.

Up to now, the program has been mainly used to:

• Evaluate maximum obtainable efficiencies for
  • wafer based a-Si/c-Si solar cells

  • thin film a-Si/epi-Si solar cells on glas

• Derive and optimize design criteria for wafer based a-Si/c-Si solar cells

• Develop and compare measurement methods for monitoring the a-Si/c-Si interface recombination
